Historic Photography Demonstration and Talk
Historic Photography Demonstration and Talk
The majority of the prints in Lincoln in Focus are albumen prints created using the wet-plate
collodion process invented in 1851 by Frederick Scott Archer. Contemporary Denver artists
Mark Sink and Kristen Hatgi will bring their 1860s vintage camera to the Byers-Evans House
Gallery to demonstrate how artists like Mathew Brady and Alexander Gardner made their
photographs. The program will include a talk on the history of photography and a discussion
of how Sink and Hatgi use this historic technique in their own art.
Program 12 to 2 pm. Free admission.
